    What's this presidential biography?

Okay, I'm trying to pick up a gift for someone, and I need help coming up with the name and/or author of a book based on some very fragmented information.

So consider it a puzzle and let me know if you happen to know what it is, because I sure don't remember. Here are the hints:
    • I'm fairly certain it's about a 20th century president.
    • I saw/read a interview recently (within the past week or so) with the author -- maybe on CNN, FoxNews, late night talk show, local newspaper -- so I think it's a recent book and the author is promoting it. Clearly I wasn't paying attention very well when I saw/read it. I've had a bad cold lately...
    • I'm almost certain it wasn't a McCullough book.
    • The name of the book was maybe 2-4 words, but I don't think it had the president's name in it. It's more likely that the subtitle had the president's name. I think one word in the title was most significant and had maybe 8+ letters in it, and the other word(s) were rather insignificant.
    • In the interview that I saw/read, I seem to remember some parallels being drawn between the subject of the book and either Barack Obama and/or the current economic crisis.

    Any ideas?

Economic crisis and Barack Obama? Is the book about Herbert Hoover? Sorry, not meaning to say Obama is like Hoover other than he came into the limelight as the economy aimed right at the toilet...

This is probably not the book you almost heard/read about (), but A Thousand Days by Arthur Schlesinger is his memoir of his time in the Kennedy White House. He won the Pulitzer for it.

There are many parallels between those times and these, including a financial crisis, foreign policy crises, a leader with lots of brains but not a lot of experience (Carolyn Kennedy makes this comparison, so please don't think I'm trying to skirt our no-politics rule).

I'm wondering if it isn't this one that I mistook for a presidential biography. I noticed the author was on the Daily Show recently, but I looked up the interview on YouTube and it didn't sound familiar. I suppose I could have been nearly asleep when I heard it...

In any case I'm still searching for a closer match. I could have sworn it was more along the lines of a biography...

You might try heading over to BN.com or Amazon.com (don't know Amazon's setup) and look at the top one hundred, then choose the subcatagory Politics.
