I dug this from the dregs instead of a new thread. I thought the dated experience may be beneficial to any new user news, or anyone that has been on the beta for a while.

PC World latest issue had a browser comparo. How are the opinions now 8 months later from this thread. I read there is a stable version. Thought I'd ask before I try it.

I just downloaded it and I like it.
I had been using Firefox, but when I installed the latest Norton 360, it broke my fox off. Crashed all my tab settings. I then tried Avant. It worked okay, but was very slow and had a few quirks that were painful.
Chrome is faster than the others and plays nice with Norton, so all is good. Nice and clean too.

Have they fixed the security issues yet? It is based on the same base code as Apple's Safari and a few other browsers. The problem is, that base code underwent a major revisions because of some security flaws a few months before Chrome beta came out. Chrome still used the old code.

In reading some of the posts, what concerns me is what problems I might incur in using Chrome. When I last upgraded Firefox, there were a few changes I just did not like. Maybe I got used to a certain format, and not being averse to change, but some some changes are a PITA. At times I wish I had the older version. This is the article from PC World I was referring to.

been using chrome on both my home and work pc's since I first posted on here. I like it. I frequent banking sites with password encryption on them and to date, no issues. I like the way it works better than IE in nearly every way, the only thing I haven't figured out how to do is get it to save web pages so that I can browse offline while I'm on the train.

If at first you don't succeed, deny you were trying in the first place.
