    New Tropical storm/hurricane forming

Right now Tropical storm Gustav is forming in the Caribbean. Winds already at 60 MPH. Projected path maybe Florida. The Palm Beach Post has a new TS/Hurricane tracking map that gives the latest info and tracking data.

    http://www.palmbeachpost.com/storm/c...torm/homepage/

It is projected to turn into a hurricane just south of Haiti. Here we go again.

Somehow remotely possible could the media be seeding the clouds so they can have their 15 minutes all day long?

Dunno, but I saw the projected path from http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ and it looks like it will likely slide betweem Cuba and Florida, meaning that thing is aimed at the Gulf... I've still got my water bottled up, plenty of gas for the Coleman Stove, lots of ice, and In laws far enough inland that like the way I BBQ...

I am taking my box fans, putting them outside and pointing them EAST!!! Sorry guys...

I'm certainly not going to turn on my dust collector in the next few days either.

Looks like Florida is going to get skimmed by this thing, BUT... It is aiming into the Gulf, and westerly it looks like...

Looks like the kid's job is secure for a while. He is a tower dog (climbs and repairs cell towers). He has been in south Texas since the day before Dolly. Coming in after work tonight from Laredo for a divorce hearing tomorrow, then back to Laredo after court tomorrow. Looks like they may be there a while longer than planned!

Cool entertainment idea for hurricane party: watch the worms float around.

Update for the storms! Go here: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ or here http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/. Haven't been on this forum much because of the storms, busy tracking them. Lots of people on this forum need to keep an eye on these storms.

There's a bunch of T-storms grouped up in the south of the GOM, Bay of Campeche that NHC says could become a TS hurricane if it stays over water. It's only half as far from Houston as Gustav... could be here in a jiffy if it forms up.

Do they swirl the same way as the storm or in opposite direction?

The price of gas went up 15 cents a gallon yesterday in our area in anticipation of the storm disrupting the oil supply or refining.

I have things to say about all of this, and NONE of it is polite...

I am going to empty my icemaker into an igloo cooler, dump that into Galveston Bay, and turn all my box fans eastward on full bore, I am encouraging all my friends and coworkers to do likewise. If the environmentalists are right, we have the power to impact the weather right? That will push the hurricane away...

I think continuing to blow a lot of HOT air is the solution. Creates a high pressure area that will push storms away.
