Looks like it will be mainly a rain event here in Tampa with some squalls and maybe the odd tornado thrown in. Not all that different than any summer afternoon here.

An 8:15 update. A lot of rain and high wind, with a tornado watch until about 10 AM. Local power is still out to about 9,000 in this area. You have some water commin' to your neighborhood.

Sorry to disappoint you but you probably jumped out of the frying pan into the fire.

I do keep my eye on them but here I'm on a hill and 30 miles from flood areas. In Pensacola, I was two feet above sea level, 200 yards from the bay, and on the receiving end of a 20' plus surge with dear Hurricane Ivan.
