    Fringes Of Fay

Right now (8:54 AM), it's raining like there's no tomorrow, sky is black. They are expecting 6+ inches of rain and 50+ MPH winds, and this is just the edges of a tropical storm. They closed the schools today (first day of school).

God bless, c.man. Hold on tight, keep your head low (but out of the water) and stay safe. Oh yea, I'll pray on this end and you do the same there, buddy!!
    Blessings,
    Chiz

Well, it's like this. Gas stations are packed right now. I've got 6 empty 5 gal containers that's gonna cost $20 each to fill in case we need them for the generator. Oh yeah, the generator. That thing has been stuck in the back corner of the shed for two years. Couldn't get to it because of 11 packages of insulation that I didn't use. Sold the insulation last week. Now that a storm could hit, I ain't ready.

Lets see, what else. Oh yeah, almost forgot. Finished puttin' in all the windows, and haven't made arrangements or plans for any shutters or even plywood. So, I may be pretty busy today. Maybe the storm will die out in Gulf of Mexico. If it turns North, maybe UC will keep us posted on how high his water is gettin'.

Good thing...we got lots of tuna fish and Oreos.

We are watching and I'll decide this afternoon if I need to bunker the house and put up the shutters. Last time (2004) I did that the neighbors freaked out. I spent a whole day with neighbors asking me how to board up. sheesh.

Sorry to disappoint you but you probably jumped out of the frying pan into the fire.

Depending on which model you look at, Fay is either going to head out to Atlantic, go up to SC/GA area and die out or head up that way then take a left down I10 (staying just off shore) and then taking aim at us over here and AL/MS/LA. Not taking eye off Fay 'til she dead and gone. Good luck to you guys south of the border (Gainesville ).

Looks like it will be mainly a rain event here in Tampa with some squalls and maybe the odd tornado thrown in. Not all that different than any summer afternoon here.
