    *&**%@* Saw!

No matter how hard I try, I can't rip a 7 1/4" wide board down to 7 3/8". Now I've gotta plane down another board. It ain't gonna get done tonight.

I didn't know you could rip a board wider, or plane it wider either for that matter.

My old high school woodshop teacher used to send us to the wood pile for the board stretcher. Some people looked a long time before learning not to go complaining to the teacher when we cut something short.

One of the few "tricks" I've learned is to cut the bigger pieces first. That way when (not if) I screw up, I can use the board cut short for smaller pieces.

Toss it into the pool/bathtub for a while and let it soak up a lot of water. Then it might be wide enough.

Or find a different ruler/tape measure. I'll bet you can find (a cheap) one that thinks it IS a 7 3/8" board.

Or scale the whole project by 98.3050847% so it matches your 7 1/4" board.

Okay... I'll leave now. I'm loopy with pain meds from today's dentist visit.

Simple. Re-wire the saw motor to run in reverse to add width.

That would work if these weren't the last pieces of the puzzle. I'm sure not going to re-cut all those already done.

Obviously, you can't cut the 1/4 down to 3/8, since 3 is already bigger than 1! Duh! Why don't you start with one that's 4/16?
