First time in quite a while I've had three days off in a row (let alone two). About a month ago, I planned on taking a trip and going to Springfield to see Grizzly tools (always wanted to get there, but an 8 hour drive in one day is a bit much)
Before I made any reservations, I checked their website, Closed Independence day.
There went my vacation (been about 25 years). Then I fell into that previously mentioned vehicle, and one of the mechanics was going on vacation. So I ended up being recruited to work for him last week. So it was a long 6 day week, and mostly sleeping on Friday, except I made a trip out to Sears, after calling to get their hours, only to find that they were closed (when they said they were open).

Tomorrow, I think (I saw a little bit of a shocked reaction, so I think they may have been planning on sticking around next weekend and helping), I was planning on doing the teardown on the car. (and using my fun money)

Edit: For Richard up in Smithville, I got to see the finally of Season 4 of Dr. Who.........

Hurry up and get it up there (or You Tube it), all I could say is
      INSERT MASSIVE SHOCK ICON

LOML and I spent some "us-time" Friday and Saturday, shopping, working in the yard/pool and went to a cook out with friends.

Sunday, I watched it rain when I wanted to go fly the helos so instead, I got a start on the next grand-baby project. Kelly is getting a little scoot-a-bout horse.

Joe, you were right in thinking it was an acronym — Personal On Demand Storage. Leaving the "S" off is probably what threw you.

Friday AM - was going to work in shop. Wrong! found out I needed to clean house even though it was just a few of her family members coming over for a lunch cookout.
Friday PM - ate too much.
Friday night - got the van ready for LOML & kids to head down to NC (Uwharrie Forest area) to visit her sister for a few days. Rear seal on dryer peeled loose

Saturday AM- got the van packed & the family out the door just a few minutes after the target of 8 am. they had to stop by pick up her Mom and they were finally on the road by 9 am. Arrived at destination at 5pm.
Saturday AM. Packed tools and supplies to head over to my Mom's to do all the house repairs I had put off from the Spring. (when I was **** near rebuilt our house for our son's high school grad party. don't ask, those who have been in the situation can laugh.
Saturday Afternoon. Nothing goes as planned. Was supposed to work inside as rain was predicted. Planned to replace some outlets, there is aluminum wiring in the house. I have the correct outlets to replace the one (and the others on the feed) that shot sparks. Barely enough wire in box, then it breaks twice. Don't have the splice kit. Will do this next week. Cleaned the gutters. Awning internal gutter was a mess, so unplanned, I tore it apart and thoroughly cleaned it, thoght did not have any screww to replace the rusted and damaged screws I had removed - will fix tomorrow. Trimming the neighbors trees (one not so neat neighbor), trimmed more than I had planned and it went pretty well. Mom is going to ask neighbor if we can cut a couple of big limbs at their starting point on the tree.
Saturday Evening : Went home and tore dryer apart. Seal costs anywhere from $20 plus shipping (paypal only) NOt enogh money in paypal acoount, to $40. Nobody local open on sunday.
Worked on Computer, trying to avoid erasing hard drive to fix window XP problem. Not much progress.

Sunday morning, packed up more tools and supplies plus the dog. Hit the road at 8 am. Expecting at least an 8 hour work day. Put the awning back together and sealled it. Bathroom faucet install went will with jsut one run to Lowes for parts - I planned that into the time budget. Pressure washed the 14 by 20 patio, every inch of it with my basically Fisher-Price pressure washer. 14 years ago Mom ripped up the "astroturf" the PO put in to hide the ugly patched concrete. I swear I was cleaning strips no more than 2 inches wide at a time. 14 years of dirt (plus the more than occasional heavy rain runoff). Will be resurfacing the patio this summer. But I must first finally do something about the drainage. I foolishly let my brother talk me out of installing drainage tile on the side of the yard a few years ago. It has to be done. Add that to this summmers list. found one minor leak in sink. I left at 7 pm.
Sunday evening. Back at my house. Trimmed several branches from several trees. Mowed for an hour (not on a riding mower either). Did an "upgrade" to Windows XP
minor help, may just have to clean it all. Probably have wasted too much time already. Went to bed at 12:30

I took an extra day off, and...
Cleaned up, and packed camping gear, including my Window Unit A/C and a box fan for a trip to Mustang Island State Park.
Made the 4 hour trip to Mustang Island.
Set up camp in the dark.
              Got rained out.
Packed the heck back up after seeing updated weather reports,
              Drove home on Friday.
Whipped out my BBQ grill on Saturday and grilled up some sirloin for the wife and I.
Worked on catching up with house cleaning with the wife.
Swore at my garage / shop again because digging out my camping gear made a mess of the garage, again...

The wife has agreed to a shed, I am looking at building a shed with a side door, that is 12 feet wide, but only 6 feet deep. I am possibly going to build it with a Gambrel Roof to at least come closer to the roof on the house, and offer some added storage up top. I need to get the camping gear, BBQ stuff, and yard tools out of the garage...

I can't even remember yesterday, let alone last weekend!

THIS weekend, I'm repairing our antique kitchen table, then start a TV stand for my mom and a clock for our Russian exchange student.

                  Last weekend before school starts...
