How's Your Record?

I recently renewed my driver's license (good for 7 years) and I still carry a motorcycle certification. I got grandfathered in the early 80's before having to take a separate written and driving test (on a motorcycle). I also still have on my license "Safe Driver" (GLOAT).

It's been almost exactly 20 years since my last ticket (for speeding). Hah...they just haven't caught this leadfoot. Anyway, what's your driving record like?

Thirty seven years ago I made an illegal left turn. I had to pay a small fine and nothing since then. I do admit to infractions since but never got caught at it.

I got a speeding ticket, probably around the time Daryl got a ticket. Gotta admit I've been lucky.

Whew, this takes some thought. About '70 I had a ticket for making a right-on-red without coming to a COMPLETE stop. The only other one was a warning for speeding in a 30 zone (I was doing 32.)

One speeding ticket when I was under 20 years old, nothing since then. I don't really speed any less these days, just better about watching for the revenue generation officers .

I got a parking ticket once....I had it for about 15 minutes as I headed to the first bank( I don't know if you can still pay them there) and payed the $20. That was over twenty years ago.

As a side note, I changed insurance companies last year and the gent setting my insurance up could not believe how clean my driving was. Just lucky I guess as I have never been caught. My insurance gave me one off from their top rating-said it's rare that a new client can get that.

Only one speeding ticket in 44 years of driving. That was 10 years ago.

Apparently you don't have to have one....Just ask the 15 year old that hit our car a couple of weeks ago.

The only one was 16 years ago, I was 19. I'm pretty sure my front wheels left the ground as came over the hill to find a HP in the oncoming lane. I just dropped it to 55 and waited for him to turn around. My driving matured allot that day.

Speeding ticket on the Mass Pike in early April of '75, and nothing since.

I have gotten tickets for speeding and other things but not in 20 years or more. I've had one accident in the 28 years I've been married and it was not my fault - young lady turned left in front of me and I could not miss her. I used to drive cars and motorcycles a lot different than I do now. I stay within 5mph of the speed limit around town but I set the cruise at 7mph over when on a long trip. I could get a ticket for this but I never have. Most police officers will let you by with up to 10 mph over.
