    50's and 60's

I received this link and I liked it very much, not that I'm that old. But I do remember a few of the better times in My life. Bill

Pretty cool, but where'd they put the air bags??

Life sure seemd more fun back then. Gas was about a quarter a gallon, the worst thing you could catch from foolin' around would be fixed by a shot of penicillin (or if you were really unlucky a shotgun wedding), and there was no dope or crack epidemic. The blues were easily treated with a few choice songs on the jukebox and a coupla rounds of Miller High Life. If you got a good job you were set for life. You worked hard, you got ahead. Great music: Chuck Berry, the Beach Boys, Elvis, that new group from Liverpool the Beatles...

Must have been fun. Too bad I was only in kindergarten when things started going to get loused up...

I'm old enough to have caught the tail end of that era. In the part on the car shows, I remembered most of the customs they showed. Thanks for the trip down "Memory Lane"!

A lot more miles per gallon in todays cars but a lot less miles per dollar

Of course there are more dollars today. Bigger back seats back then too but I don't have much use for a back seat today

I don't know how to take that one....you know there are two different ways to defend that....but very funny, I laughed at it.

I do remember. Had a '57 Chevy that my buddies and I chopped, souped up, and had a blast with. Did all the work, tune ups, etc myself. With todays cars I'm lucky I can find the dipstick!

My only question — is the 50s-60s referring to the decades or our ages???

Fond memories of my '58 Impala.

Thanks for the memories Bill. Got my license in 52, first car was a 40 ford convt. We could get 5 gals of gas for $1.00 and cruise all night. Wish I could relive it again. You had to bulid your "Hot rods" back then, not buy them ready made.

Thanks Everyone for the replies, My first real car was a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Sunliner, totally stock, but it was fun car. I was in Vietnam, when they towed it to a salvage yard, I was some upset. Bill

Yeah, that brought back some memories, mostly good. I coulda swore that A & W was the one in my neighborhood. Had a few of those cars too. Thought the "car phone" was funny.
