Thought the "car phone" was funny.

The one that caught my eye was the interior shot showing an under-the-dash A/C unit. Remember the days when, unless you were buying a Caddy, you had to get the A/C installed separately?

A friend found a couple of the A/C air scoops that mounted behind the rear window (remember those?) He mounted them on his '56 Buick and ran around all summer with the windows up, trying to make people think he had A/C. I learned real quickly to offer to drive whenever we were together. I didn't have A/C either, but at least I would drop the windows!

My dad has an old 62 Ford Galaxy that he has restored into a "patrol" car. It is very nice and he worked for quite a few years getting mostly all original things for the car. But he has some friends who have a nice looking Ford Victoria???? I am not sure that is what it is exactly, but they got a "window A/C" for their car at a swap meet. You put some ice or cold water in it and put it in the window I think and then drive down the road and the wind that comes in the window cools down and makes the inside of the car cooler.

At least that is what I remember my dad talking about a while back.
