Glad to hear you are doing alright. Get the doc to write you a script for more shop time and do as your quilter says, you should be OK unless your dust collector malfunctions

New Year, new Rod! Glad to hear you are ok - but listen to Pappy, the Chantix has worked wonders for alot of folks that I know. I wonder if they have it down under? Stay with your resolutions this year!

Glad that your better now Rod, even though you live thousands of miles away I, like many of the members I'm sure, think of you as a freind, as well as a mentor for all your wonderfull advise, suggestions, ideas, and even the appreciation you give of our own work.

And thank God for our beautiful wives, that are there for us at these times to keep us making the right choices when we may not want to, I'm sure Carole will keep you around for a long time.

Good news that you're OK. You're lucky to live in these times. Not long ago it might have been a different story. I remember back in my teenage years when I began doing bad things to my body, I always thought by the time I got seriously ill because of them, the medical advances would have a cure. Wishful thinking.

Then every once in a while there'll be a rare story on the news about someone who just turned 100 years old and was asked about their lifestyle. There they are smokin' a cigarette, and talking about drinking a fifth a day. Go figure.

I think of illnesses, attacks, and even near misses in the shop as a warning...like a tap on the shoulder.

                        Rod,

Glad they got you fixed up! Stents can be a wonderful thing - my cousin has over 30 of them . His doc says his heart is in great shape - it's the plumbing that needs repair!

I'll also chime in on Chantix - I haven't quite quit yet - but it's not too far off. I've gone from a pack and a half a day habit one month ago to today - I've only had 3 cigarettes. I'm almost there!

Some people experience extreme gas when taking Chantix - my wife says she hasn't noticed any difference (I'm not quite sure how to take that...)

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
                        Scott

                            Rod,

Very glad to hear that you're okay now. Take care of yourself and I agree with David that a spot here and there is a lot less stressful.

                            Kind regards,

                              New Years eve 2008

Rod, good to hear that you are still around and improving after that ordeal,
not the kind of new years we want is it?

Pappy, I know what you are going thru firsthand myself, was forced to quit smoking, haven't had one, starting my fourth week for me, I spent the first week of December in the hospital, with congestive heart failure myself,
they installed the second stint while there. Scariest thing I have ever had happen to me was, when I couldn't get my breath and was gasping and panting for air...ain't no fun! Hope you guys continue to get better and mend
                              completely and quickly....eezlock

                                Rod,

Glad to hear that you are doing ok. That must have been a very rude wake-up call. I am glad your wife was smart enough to call for help.

Now go make some saw dust and dirty up that shop. We all know you never use it it's just for looks.

                                Take care of yourself,
