          Mark,
Thanks Black Walnut! This is great! If I ever get power, I'll be able to do this at home!

12:04 PM - Ventura, CA. Surf Camp

              Dear folks,

Dude, Like I totally would have written earlier but I just got up! It got so cold here last night that Billy totally lost it! He was jumping up and down all night swearing and yelling something about keeping the blood pumping to stop hippo thermous (er sumthin) from settin in. The talking thermomoeter outside said it was like 38°F or some unreal number like that, I didnt know it could get that cold. It only got up to 62°F today with the son out so Mr. Mackey said we that there would be no surf lessons until they could get the indoor heated pool refilled. Billy and I thought that we could get his tongue to stick to the basketball pole, like they did in that movie "a Christmas Story" but it wasn't working. I guess it has to be colder than 62°F to work. Mackey said we were dorks.

Oh good news, if they can't get the pool fiolled we might get to go snow boarding instead. Appearantly it snowed in the mountains! I will write again later this week and let you know how it goes. Mr. Mackey sais that if we are good he will take us to his cabin while we are in the mountains and show us how to shovel snow.

              your son,

              Johnny

Late yesterday during day 10, I finally got my power back on. They still have over 400 to connect. Since we threw out all of the perishables, I have to go grocery shopping tonight instead of going straight home. The first day of winter isn't until Saturday!
