It got down into the teens here over the weekend, but the heavy snow we were supposed to get fizzled out. TV said we got 2 to 4 inches, I peg it at about 1 1/2 or less.

I have been without power for 9 days and counting. The line to my house is laying on the ground so we have been staying with my dad. The outdoor type propane heater that I have been using to keep my pipes thawed ran out and the temp in my house was 38 degrees Sunday afternoon. I got it up to a warm 45 before I left. My power company had about 61,000 with out power at one time. There are down to 3999 and me. Winter sucks!

After the last hurricane, we lost our power for 15 days. With two dogs, three cats, and three aquariums, no place to go. Ran our generator for the duration, averaged about $1.00/hr. Getting the fuel was the biggest challenge. We get very dependent, don't we.

For those that do not know there is a short cut to make the ° sign: alt+0176 works every time it is tried. It is only 34°F. here now, was snowing a few minutes ago, now sun is shining.

It don't work on mine. What do you do, hit alt, then 0176? Do you hold down the alt for the four numbers?

                      You can also just do:

                      alt + 167

although I seem to be having a problem actually doing it within this thread.

Well Mark...I tried that, and no little degree thingy. Is it that it won't show on "preview", but will come up on "submit"?

º hmmmm alt + 167 also works. C-man you have me baffled. Are you using windows? I'm not sure if the shortcut works with other OS's.
