    iPod Theft Prevention

What can you do to prevent your iPod from being stolen - outside of not owning one?

How about implementing the "crime deterrent" feature? After viewing this video you will know what I mean.

I have a friend that lost his and he used this site to get his money back.

I don't see how UNLOSEIT.COM helps if they someone steals it.
Aside from the realtive anonimity of the site,
A thief would not check to see if its stolen, he already knows. And, if he stole it why should he return it? Unless you offered a really big reward. But it would be cheaper to just buy a new one and not reward the thief with reward money.

I think unloseit.com will be out of business before they pay many "policies"

I don't know all of the details, but my buddy said that they ended up paying him for his iPod. It has been almost a year since that happened, so you may be right about them not being in business anymore. All of the testimonials are from 2006. I question the business logic myself, but then again, normal business logic doesn't always apply to Internet companies with venture capital funding.
