My old analog (looks like a clock) bathroom scale finally reached a 'too unreliable to ignore' stage, so bought a bathroom scale (Health-O-Meter) from Walmart for $20.
Thing is, it shows a variation of almost 5 pounds for my weight - taken at 8 am in the morning and then again at 11am. The pamphlet did say there might be a small variation, but this is not small
. The whole idea was to start getting into a health mode for the entire family, with my 8 year old at around 90%-ile weight. But this scale won't do at all.
So is it a case of 'what you pay for'? Maybe I should go for costlier? Any recommendations?
I did see this one at Costco . Check out it's claim :
"Capacity & Measurement
The ProFIT™ UC-321 has a maximum capacity of 350 pounds. It measures weight to the tenth of a pound. The scale is so accurate that you can weigh yourself, get off the scale and drink a glass of water, weigh yourself again and actually see the difference immediately "
Wow! But for $89, that might as well be true. But isn't there a middle ground in cost?
