If I am not mistaken the company needs more than 20 employees to be required to offer Cobra. Just an FYI...

Unless I missed it, I didn't see any mention of filing for unemployment benefits. Don't forget to file for that. Maybe have to wait some time if you received a severance package. Every bit helps.

he said the corporate office ordered him axed. So if you have a corproate office separate from your boss' office then likely you have more than 20 empolyees.

          Mike,

Sorry to hear about the bad news. Hang in there Bud, something better will come along.

          Kind regards,

Cobra is in the $850 range this time. I can make that maybe a month or two but after that, If I don't have another job with insurance, I may be in trouble.

I already have most of the info, just need the forms that they will mail me for that (cobra) and the Flex Spending continuation (otherwise I'll lose the $2k that I have built up in that that we were planning to use later this year on dental stuff).

Talked to a couple headhunters today, So I'm working on it.

I may be wrong, but I think you can use the funds in the Flex Spending account to pay for COBRA premiums.
