Lee - I wish I had good news for you. But I DON'T. It might help to go back and read the OP for the variety of materials. A rubber pill bottle - really. I doubt if there are 5 pound pill bottles either. These suggestions are a real thinking process. It's brainwork. Makes us better woodworkers too
But, you are keeping the clues in mind and I appreciate that. I'm working on another clue. I've just about given it away already. My psychic waves are telling me one of you is gonna hit on it any moment.

I have seen Jagermeister bottle small enough to go on a key chain and as large as an end table, so I did give it some thought. Bottles may have been the wrong term I was looking for.Lee - I wish I had good news for you. But I DON'T. It might help to go back and read the OP for the variety of materials. Medicine containers would have been more accurate as the guess I was trying to make. They have certainly been made using most of the materials you mentioned.
I know. Wrong answer. Think harder.LeeComment

here are all the clues in one place:
CLUE # 1: In the collection, the variety of materials of the items are: wood, plastic, paper, glass, vinyl, leather, metals of different types, cloth (some 100% cotton, some synthetic fiber), rubber, porcelain and ceramic.
CLUE # 2: I haven't done any collecting in a few years, but the most recent one I've had about 5 years, and the first ones collected were about 40 years ago. I have no idea how old any of them were at the time I got them. Their age was not really the issue, but really old ones fascinated me.
CLUE # 3: The collection has a single theme.
CLUE # 4: The lightest weight is definitely under one ounce. The heaviest one maybe five pounds.
CLUE # 5: Some of the items in the collection are from all parts of the world, but not necessarily indigenous to where they are from.
CLUE # 6: Some of the items are very thin, some flat, while others are fully dimensional.
CLUE # 7: Everyone here knows what these things are and have probably touched one, maybe even more than once in a day.
CLUE #8: When you see this, you may think you need it, but there are times you don't need to touch it.
CLUE # 9: To keep you on track, a reminder that these items are a collection. I have several hundred in the collection and each is different. They are only good for a period of time, but they last much longer than they are good for.
CLUE # 10: Here is a real giveaway clue. Sometimes you are given one of these, at other times, you might ask for one.
CLUE # 11: Even though you don't collect these, many of you may have one or more of these in your house, just for your family's sake, and well being.Comment

CLUE # 12: When you get yours, spending a bit of time with it is a common thing to do.
