Well, we finally know. I have a digital image (and the original) of the Christmas dinner menu served at Fort Ethan Allen (in Vermont) for 1919 (U.S. Army). I think I offered a copy to members before, and you might already have a copy of it. If not, let me know, and I'll send it your way. Anyone else is also welcome to it. Just send me a PM with your e-mail address.

I saw your mention of a medical test being done this morning. Hopefully, everything's coming out good for you. BTW, this was a good thread.

That's exactly why I didn't post 'menu'--it occured to me, but also that it did not conform to at least one of the clues.

It would be interesting if you could post some pics of your more exotic menus.

If you don't give a menu to your LOYL (take them out to eat) every now and then, then this clue would come into play.

First of all, this was a great thread CM - gave us all the thrill of the chase. Fun all thru. Thanks for the diversion.

Next, congrats Lance - you have a good analytical mind. I wish some of that would rub off to me. ( And that holds for all others who did think of Menus, whether you actually posted or not. You know who you are).

Finally I confess that I never posted even one guess - because even if they would have been wrong, I was not even fast enough - somebody else had already posted whatever I thought of...

Now I collected all 16 clues and printed it out for my 8 year old, and am having fun seeing her jump up and down trying to figure it out (with her mom's help )
