You see exactly what I see. That's the only picture I could find. I tried to do some research on this particular item and the most I could find out was what it was. So, from the picture I'm guessing it is maybe 3' across and maybe 30" - 36" high. It's sitting on an outside deck next to some outdoor furniture. So, that's how I'm judging the scale. I have no idea what the back looks like. For all I know, the picture might be showing the back.
I'm also guessing it could be made out of wood, at least the one I made was.
From the picture I would say:
The item is about 2 feet deep
Somewhat hollow, to help reduce the weight
The holes are probably used to move the item.Ric

BZZZ - Wrong, the item is sitting inside a shop, probably an antique shop from the items in the background. This item is made of metal, or painted to look like rusted metal .
From the picture I would say:

The thing is solid, and given its overall look (aviation propellers, gears etc) it gotta be a decorative piece of some sort for some place that has to do with aviation, either a wood carving or plaster cast with rust finish, or a rusted metal casting. The holes gotta be for mounting bolts. Upper left hole and shadow on floor shows depth of the piece being rather small.
As to what this thing was actually decorating is anyone's guess. The overall shape is either stylized W (or M if displayed upside down. In fact, rotating the picture 180 makes it look more 'right' somehow. M for 'Mechanics'?). I could see it bolted to a wall above some entrance.Comment
