    I'm Back

I have been out of touch in the hospital and rehab for the last 2 months. Blood clots popped up in my leg again so they did an artery graft to my left leg and took the the necessary pipe from my right. I am doing well now and am walking. I use a cane but only to steady myself.

The sad part is that I am moving to a 1 bedroom apartment in a retirement community so there will be no room for a shop. The new place is real nice, It's like stepping in to a 5 star hotel.

I will be off and on the computer for the next week or so but will be back as soon as I get settled in.

Every one take care and have a nice holiday weekend.

Glad to hear from you--hopefully the "5-star hotel" will suit you.

That's too bad about the shop. Some people I know rent a space in someone else's garage for a shop, or take classes at the local TC to use their equipment.

      Best of luck!

        Dick,

Glad to hear that you are feeling better. How about a small sit down lathe on the dresser. Or, what do you need more, a bedroom or a shop.

Sorry to hear about your health. 5 star hotel, well I guess you could make do.

Just because you won't have the shop you can still hang out on this site. Us young, inexperienced folks could use your wisdom.

Good to see you back on here. Hopefully you'll do well at the retirement community. I've seen a few nice ones that are pretty close to your 5 star hotel, see to be good places.

Glad the surgery went good, Dick. The 'home' might turn out a good thing...Probably full of rich widows to chase!

If you have to have a sawdust fix, I would bet there is at least one or two members nearby that would welcome you into thier shops.

Great to have you back. My mother just moved into one of those 5-star retirement comm. and loves it. And as Pappy said, the ratio of women to men is at least 5 to 1.

                    Dick,
Glad to hear that the surgery went well and that you are doing better. Don't be a stranger around here. I am sure that your wisdom would be missed if you stopped popping in to check on all of us.

Yes glad to hear you out of the hospital. Bad place I'll tell you. Oh I know they fix us up but still bad place to have to visit. Anyway glad you're out. So retirement home huh. Well, you know I don't think I'd mind that all that much as long as I had a computer and plenty to read. Course not having a shop would suck but hopefully you have had your share of woodworking in your life. Anyway the best of luck to you and yes certainly hope to see you continue to hang around here. And IMO leave those woman alone. They'll just get you in trouble. Take care Dick.
May you die and go to heaven before the Devil knows you're dead. My Best, Mac

                            Glad the surgery went well.
You don't really need a shop to do wood working. You might be interested in model ship or boat making. You can do that on the small and still have fun with it. I always enjoyed doing models, just rarely have the time anymore. They will keep your fingers and your brain agile as ever. I look forward to hearing more from you.

I haven't been around for a couple of months. I glad to hear that your health is improving. It must be hard to give up the house and your woodworking. Moving on to another chapter in your life can be a good thing too!

                              Best of luck Dick!
