Tools For The Inventors Out There

Here's a few ideas for the mastermind inventors. "Might Be Nice" tools that I would buy in a New York Minute.

    How about silencers for routers.

How about a hammer that has an extreme magnetic head so that you could never miss the nail and hit your finger.

How about a utility knife "knife stop" that retracts the blade when it starts to cut skin.

How about a wand that when passed over a finish dries it instantly.

How about different size pockets with a velcro type edge that can be stuck on any "T" shirt that doesn't have a pocket.

    How about a tape measure/cell phone/cd player/fm radio/ walkie talkie/flashlight/camera/battery charger/pencil sharpener/calculator - combo that has a belt clip.

Are there any more ideas for some "Might Be Nice To Have" tools?

Instead of a silencer (don't have the money for a class III license), how about a muffler?
As for the hammer, hope you don't have a steel plate in your head?

As for the last one, get yours NOW :

      My faves:

DED (dark-emiting diode) Turn it on and it will darken a room without closing the drapes or turning off the TV or lights.

Micro-wave freezer. Put a drink in this, run it for 30 seconds and it will drop the temperature to 32F. If done right this can even return energy to the electrical plug reducing you power bill.

Transparent paint - paint this over a section of wall where you want a window. I think you have to paint both inside and outside walls.
      Loring in Katy, TX USA
If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

Run them for about 30 years and they will get real quiet. I learned that from my dad.

Actually, this product was developed in 1992. Unfortunately, this product was never sold, because the stores could never get the hammers separated after there were shipped to the store.

I call mine a propane torch. Kind of adds that airbrush detailing as well.

The good thing about this one is that the manuf. also gets to sell a new belt design that can hold 282 pounds on a belt clip.

They have that one. I believe the pH is around 1.2.

Love the DED. This must be the new low power 3V replacements for the 220/110 HVLP Dark Suckers!

Micorwave Freezers: I wondered about this gadget 30 years ago. Been waiting and waiting for this!

What I really want is a very low noise Dust Collector system.

but that lets the wind blow thru. I just wanted to see out, not ventilate.

                    How about some necessary tools:

Air hook - one with multiple connections that you can hook anywhere in the air.

Levitator - so that you can move things around easily - with belt clip of course.

Gravity modulator - Similar to the levitator, could be used for really heavy items, like homes, sometimes in combination with the levitator.

Darkness eliminator - Needs no batteries, and is not solar. Useful to be able to work outside without lights.

I'm looking for a cordless outlet that I can move to any corded tool I might be using at the time. I still have a lot of corded tools and would hate to replace all of them.

And what about a hologram generator so when I open the shop doors, I don't get all the neighbours running over to see what's being made today. They would see a prerecorded scene.

A digital camera that would allow you to take pictures of the past. Just dial in the time.

                            1. Siulencer for router - them's called 'earmuffs'
                            2. Never-missing hammer - them's called 'nail guns'
                            3. Wand that dries finish - them's called 'high-intensity UV'

Still waiting for microwave freezer? Get frosty with a tank of LN!!!

Pictures of the past? Big deal. Gimme a camera that takes pictures of the future.

I'd like to see a line of "chameleon" finishing products: stains, putties, paints that automatically blend in with the surrounding color.

I'm in the final finishing stages of my remodel, and trying to get everything to match is giving me grief! I'm dealing with 3 wood species, 3 stains and 2 topcoats. Add in 2 formulations (water-base and oil base) for the stains and topcoats and things are getting interesting.

And don't get me started on paint touch-ups
                              Mike

Drywall screws are not wood screws
