    St. Patrick's Day meal?

Who's gonna have corn beef and cabbage? I love it, but only get it once a year because LOML can't stand it. It probably tastes better when you only get it once a year. Can't wait till day after tomorrow.

For reasons known only to our friends, we've been invited to an Indian-food pot luck.

    Go figger.

I'm smoking a brisket and we'll have cabbage and potatos for sides. Beer of any color is welcome also.

We are having a family dinner with Corned Beef and Cabbage. We will all wear something Orange in memory of our Mom who always wore Orange to work on St Pats day. She would tell people who asked why, that she was a Swedish Protestant not Irish Catholic. She had more fun with that. She toned it down though when the violence got so bad in Ireland. But we alway had Corned Beef and Cabbage on the 17th of March.

That describes my situation to the T. Didn't have it last year but the wife agreed to endure it this year....I also can't wait.

Corned beer? That's a new one for me!

I don't know about the green beer; think I'll stick with Guiness.

"Corned beer"? We obviously know what you're thinking of.

Sure love corned beef, cabbage, boiled potatoes and carrots. Wish I was having some tonight.

Bubble and Squeek, soda bread and a couple of the Guinness. I'll also be flying the "Green Flag" to show my support of a united Ireland.

I'm Asian and my mom made corned beef and cabbage every year. My wife is
half Irish and never had it until she married me. I've got the brisket, cabbage
and potatoes in the crock pot right now. It'll be ready for dinner. Can't wait!

                      Another untraditional variation...
While the potatoes and cabbage are boiling up in the corned beef broth…..
On occasion I'll take the cooked corned beef mix up a heavy glaze of whole ground mustard and brown sugar or maple sugar pack it on the meat and put it in the oven to glaze over.

I am Irish, born and raised, moved to the US 9 years ago.

I'll be following a strictly 'liquid' diet )

I did have Corned Beef 2 days ago but no cabbage, I HATE cabbage. Yuck!

Can't wait for the Corned Beef!! I'll pass on the cabbage though. We're having about 20 people over and steaming a couple of bushels of oysters too. You can't have a party in the low country without oysters!
