A little computer help, please

Hey guys. Need some help. Bought a new computer a week ago with
the new "Vista" OS. I took the old computer from my home, added a new Hard Drive, more RAM and took it to my office. I am using OE at my office, and have been unable to receive emails from my office to my home. The emails are remaining in my "sent" box, and not being kicked back to me.
Tech support says they may be stuck in some "Spam Filter" or the like somewhere in my computer. Needless to say, they can't help me-can any of you?

Does your employer allow outbound SMTP and POP3 traffic? We block such traffic thereby eliminating a potential virus source on our network.

I "am" my employer, and yes I "do" allow outbound SMTP and POP3 traffic.

Ok... does the machine "surf" the internet OK? Is Outlook Express the only application not working?

Did you try going to tools>send and receive>send all
did that empty the outbox?

usually the outbox holds outgoing mail IF
1) the connection is not available (did you program the proper mail server and password)
2) if the work offline is checked
3) Seems to me there is some setting that tell it to send immediately or hold for when you tell it to send (used for when you compose mail when offline but then connect to send it like with mobile computing and dial up).

I am starting to confuse myself. Let me clarify... What's not working? Are you trying to e-mail forself from one e-mail account to another? Or are you accessing the same e-mail account from two different places and not getting the same results in both places?

If it's the latter, you need to configure BOTH e-mail clients to "leave a copy on the server".

He says they are hanging in "Sent Items", not "Outbox". That's why I'm starting to get cornfused.

This may be caused by your office email server being different than the one that you used at home.
The account you are attempting to send on at the office must be recognized by your business' email server.
If this is still set to the same default email account as you used at home this may not be the case if your internet service providers are different at home and at work.
To fix this set your default email on the office machine to use an email account you use for business. To get rid of the emails in the out box send them using that account.

Are you sending to yourself, same email address?
Or another address?

and computer B at the office with (XP, 2000, 98, what) and which OE?

So you send from home computer (A) a message to your own address (same one?), I assume while connected to the internet. (confirmed by surfing to a web site?)
does it say its sent?
is it in the outbox? (should not be, it should be gone)
Is it in the sent folder? (should be)
Is it in your inbox (it should be!)?

Now you go to work. Turn on Computer B. Connect to the internet. (confirm) Open OE.
Is the mail
1) in the inbox?
2) in the sent mail folder?

No, I am sending to home from my office. Same ISP-same DSL. Only difference is; Home is a 64 bit processor, and office is a 32.

Home is Vista with Windows Mail, which is a replacement for OE on the Vista system. Office is OE, not sure which version-XP os.

Yes. Itis not in the Inbox, it is in the Sent items folder.

Now you go to work. Turn on Computer B. Connect to the internet. (confirm) Open OE.
Is the mail
1) in the inbox?
2) in the sent mail folder?

Computer (B) has all incoming mail in the Inbox.

Confusing huh!!

It is a shame that new computers only come with Vista. I don't think it is ready for prime time yet. One thing you might try is to download Thunderbird (it is the open source email client that is a companion to the Firefox web broswer.) This is free and would allow you to see if it is a settings issue in the new Mail application (which I have never used) or a more general problem with your network setup.
