    Besides woodworking, what else?

We've had several "getting to know you" threads lately, which I personally find fascinating as it helps provide a more complete picture of the actual, living, breathing people behind all these screen names (including those who use their real names as their screen names). I thought there had been a thread on this subject fairly recently, but a search failed to turn it up.

    Two questions:

    1. Other than woodworking, what hobbies or interests do you enjoy and participate in (somewhat) regularly?

    2. What other hobbies or interests have you long wanted or intended to try, but for whatever reason have never gotten around to? (Please limit your answer to the one or two things you'd MOST like to try ... I think we could all provide an essentially endless list to this question! Also, this could be something entirely different, or something that's an extension to what you're already doing).

    Answering my own questions:

    1. Cycling, and some backpacking/camping (although I don't do as much of the latter as I'd like).

    2. For years I've been threatening to combine my interests in cycling and backpacking by doing a self-supported bicycle tour. I'd also like to try my hand at fly fishing.

I know the guys on here are going to laugh when I reveal my 2nd hobby but the women of BT3Central might appreciate it.

My second favorite hobby is cross-stitching. I picked it up when I was working construction years ago. During that time we had to drive to all of our job sites because of the amount of equipment that we had to transport. You can imagine the ribbing I used to take from the other 3-4 guys in the truck.

I used to be a commercial diver/underwater welder and the only time I ever used my scuba certification was the practice time and the day I received my PADI license. I want to travel somewhere warm and dive in clear water.

Cycling is the other hobby that I have besides Woodworking. Nothing like a nice 20 mile bike ride in the morning. Someday I would like to get into kayaking, it just seems fun and relaxing.

I fly RC airplanes which is what got me into woodworking. I enjoyed building planes about as much as flying them.

I'm also a Linux hack. Just got done building a home entertainment tivo-network-commercial-eating-doo-dad..

Raise 2 kids. (Thats not a hobby!)

I'm published author. (shameless Amazon plug keyword:Guy Rules)

I play guitar and tenor sax. Now I'm teaching my son to play guitar.

My second favorite hobby is cross-stitching.
Would love to learn about the Guy Rules concerning "cross-stitching" (aka knitting?) while on the road your construction buddies... []

                          1) Poker & Fishing

                          2) Can't really think of a "hobby" per se, however others mentions of cruises, exotic vacation, etc would be nice.

I just don't have enough time for all my hobbies which include:
                            Mountain biking
                            muscule cars
                            Photography
and computer geekdom (Hey Bill wanna compare HTPC?)

On my last vacation in Bora Bora I took a beginners scuba dive.
I think I'm going to pursue open water certification before the next warm weather vacation.

I need to retire so I have the time for all this but then I couldn't afford to do any of it except the mountain biking.
                            Opinions are like gas;
I don't mind hearing it, but keep it to yourself if it stinks.

                              1. photography, computer games (when time permits), beer drinking (maybe this should be first?!)

                              2. snowboarding, carving, hiking (we all know how to hike, have hiked, but I'd like to do more actively, routinely).
