Maybe the crook who stole your identity and was about to cash in got shot by a rival gang?

Now, proving someone who is considered dead to be alive is not such a big deal. Proving that someone is dead when he is still considered alive can be a nightmare. Especially if person has debts - everyone immediately gets suspicious that death was faked.

I'm sorry to hear about this, I asked my wife who works for a local bank about it. She told me that You should be very careful and assume nothing. If it has made it to the credit bureau files, it can stop Your Social Security, Retirement benefits, and any number of other things. She has run into this before, it's not always easy as You think to prove that You are alive. I wish You good health. Bill

I always wondered if I checked out in my sleep, how would I know if it was a dream or not. I think Woody Allen said "I'm not afraid to die, I just don't want to be there when it happens".

                    Dick,
After it is all straightened out, don't forget to throw yourself a heck of a wake!

It looks like it is all straightend out and the wake is underway.

Very sorry to hear of all the stress that this has put you in. I'm not sure which is worse: being notified of your own demise or that they're trying to foreclose on the house which you are no longer supposed to be living in?

Thinking in terms of foreclosing on the home of the "deceased" makes me wonder about their sense of humanity. I hope you leave them with a few chosen words on Monday that will haunt the H3!! out of them.

You might also ask them who they thought was making the mortgage payments the last several months and more specifically, why weren't they applied to your mortgage?

Don't you just love these mortgage morons,

                          Good to hear!

If you haven't already done so, get one of the free credit reports to make sure everything else is in order:
                          www.annualcreditreport.com

You can get reports from all 3 companies once per year for free. I like to spread them out and get one from a different company every 4 months.
