I showed a bit of a preview of one I was working on the other day by showing a picture of the Lock Lever Handle I had made for the new nova lathe. This can not only be applied to the Nova series but any other lathes as well. It is a good modification that adds a level of comfort. So here is a little pictorial on how I went about making these if you are interested.

I don't know, Rod, every turner I've ever seen working has a pile of chips about soooooo deep around him and his lathe.

Loring, those are not shavings you see, there an anti fatigue mat!

I have thought about Rod and have designed him a solution! For most people the lathe needs to be raised to accommodate the turner’s height. For Rod he would build the stand extra wide and like a downdraft table. Instead of holes though he would cut wider slots in it and hook a 4” vacuum port to it. So as the shavings fall they would get sucked up! He could even build it out of MDF! To catch the savings striate from the lathe he cold make a Vee-trouth system that went under the bed of the lathe that would catch shavings. Also could be made with MDF.

I mean living in OZ he has the best turning wood in the world! Common Rod you know you want too!
