Bowl number 1, not quite finished

Couldn't wait to post pictures. Have to wait to finish the bottom, but you can get an idea of what it looks like. It's about 4 1/2" dia. x 2" tall, made of Tipa Colorado. Learned a LOT - like I really need to learn to sharpen my tools, sawdust packs into deeper scratches so the bowl feels smooth when it's not, and sanding is ROUGH on longer fingernails!
Thanks for looking, and for all the great information you all give!

The pictures seem to show scratches on the side. I think it's reflection, though? Can't see them in the daylight.

Darn nice design. The bowl has a good amount of "float" which means that it does not look like it is welded to the table.
Measure twice, cut once, screw it up, start over

Beautiful Bowl, Karen. I'm not noticing any scratches. We can notice our oops' when no one else can. Thank you for letting us see it.

If the skipper heard you call that deck a floor he would throw you through that little round window

Karen, that is beautiful for a 100th bowl, fantastic for a first. Looks like a natural talent.

I am jealous... My first bowl came flying of the lathe in pieces. Nice work!

Yes, Ken, I used my Shopsmith: bandsaw and lathe.
