    Cherry bowl blank score

I answered an add on CL for 16 Cherry bowl blanks for $5/each or $50 for ALL of them. Once I saw them it was too good of a deal to pass up. They have been cut, waxed and air drying in the sellers basement for 18 months. My Honda Accord was riding a little low in the rear on the way home.

        Wow! Nice score...

Now would be a good time to think about a McNaughton Center-Saver, if you don't have one already. You might get 50+ bowls from those blanks, instead of 16 bowls and a mountain of shavings...

I totally agree. That's quite the amazing deal, but each of those bowls could turn into 3, and a matched set at that....

          Lucky man...

You might want to look into a bowl saw
            http://www.bowlsaw.com/how.html

I don't have one but am thinking about getting one, much cheaper than the other coring systems and looks pretty easy to use.

            In any case YOU SUCK!!!!!!

That looks like a better solution if you want a flat bottom bowl set... But the other corers our there can get more bowls from the material than that could, it seems to me.

Though not a bad price, and it might be beneficial to have this and one of the other systems. That way you have more than one style of bowl available to you...

And they all will have more or less the same shape, how boring! That may be OK for production turners, but count me out...

Nobody says they have to be kept next to one another for comparison. 50 bowls in one place is boring, no matter how unique they are...

If trying to maximize raw materials and reduce waste makes one a "production turner" then I suspect we've all been so classified at one time or another.

You stole those.. or he stole them and sold them cheap like one of those guys wearing an over-coat in summer that opens it briefly to reveal Rolex watches at a realy bargain.

Seriously.... you got them for nothing and gave a $50 tip.

                    Have fun..

                      Excellent score!

Just FWIW, if you are going to be hauling stuff like large amounts of bowl blanks, sheet goods, and large tools around, you might want to fit that accord with a trailer hitch / trailer wiring harness, and get your hands on a small folding utility trailer.

Harbor Freight Item #42709 which is sold at other locations for nearly the same price. (Northern tool I believe has the same trailer, but without the wheels / tires for the same price...). I had one when I had a single cab, short box Ranger (Bed too short / narrow to haul sheet goods) and was very happy with it, Stowed away nice and small too...

I have seen guys towing these things with a reasonable load in them behind all kinds of small cars... So if you do the occasional hauling like that, and don't want a pickup truck...
