    3 fresh ones

Had to try to keep up with Whaler

2 Jichimu (Chicken Wing Wood) and one Huanghuali (Yellow Flowering Pear, a member of the Rosewood family) all sent to me by a fellow turner in Singapore. Both species are fairly rare.

Kits are Jr. retro on the Jichimu and Jr. Statesman on the Huanghuali

I now need to replace the lighting in my photo set-up as one of the lights fell and broke before the last picture. Thus, why the Huanghuali seems unlit.

you can't really see it in the pictures, but the Jichimu does have a feathered look to it that makes it look like a wing. It's rather surprisingly similar.

And these two are Two-Toned Jichimu, the wood is usually all the darker color that you see on the rear cap/pen

Nice pens.. I don't get to read the turning threads often but... I decided to try to take time to peak each day. It appears I have missed some nice stuff by the turners here.

Chicken-wing wood... huh? Does that come with a bottle of Tabasco for each pen?
