    that looks great! As a fellow duck hunter I'm jealous of your grandson. Anyone sharing ablind with him, young or old will be jealous.

    I've become fond of hand made wooden calls, your's is the best prettiest looking call I've seen, period.

    how does it sound?

      My wife says that it sounds LOUD! I have three different reeds and I will take all three to my grandson. As far as calling a duck, I have no clue as to how good the sound is. I never have been good at hearing tones.

      I used to hunt as a kid and teenager, but I never used a duck call and never had to. I knew where the ducks were and how to get to them. I rarely came home empty handed. But I only went 3 to 4 times per winter in the late 50's through the late 60's in NW Mississippi. Haven't hunted since then, but sure wanted to. Retirement is coming in about 6 years and I plan doing some hunting then.
