    Screwdriver turning

I took everything down to My Brothers shop/garage today. He bought 30 screwdriver kits from Rockler. We were going to run some 100 year old walnut thru his planer and cut into blanks. He is an Architect and mentioned needing some blanks to a cabinet mfg, local, and they gave him several 2" square X 30" long Cherry, maple, and walnut boards.

We cut them to length, drilled the holes in them, cut them into octagons, and I got 1 turned today. I guess we will be busy for a while. But it should be easier from here on out. Bill

I did one of these a few months ago, they are fun! Though that many might turn fun into work... Hope you'll enjoy it anyway.

I turned several more this week and am working today. The cherry ones are really beautiful, the walnut look good, but man is that maple hard to turn. It does turn out nice tho. Bill

What is the inside diamater of the brass collet on the screw driver kits. I picked up a kit today but it was missing the collet. Hopefully I can find something that is the correct size ID.
