    New lathe

Need an opinion and or recomendations. The $50 Craftsman tube lathe is driving me nuts trying to keep it aligned and together.
Looking at an inexpensive, read <$700, preferrably much less. This Griz looks pretty good http://www.grizzly.com/products/G0462 this one looks pretty good too http://www.grizzly.com/products/G1067Z. Been looking for a used one but none has come up down this way. Been pretty happy with the Griz TS. Looked pretty hard at a Jet at Woodcraft. Amazon seems to be all out of Delta's. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Pat

Pat I don't have a working big lathe, but will watch with interest the ones mentioned. Bill

The 4062 looks very similar to the $300ish lathe that Harbor Freight has. Might be a clone.

      Okay, not quite a clone.

If at first you don't succeed, deny you were trying in the first place.

Much as I like my Griz stuff, Woodmag panned their lathe pretty hard. Too much vibration, as I recall.

I love my Jet JWL 1234, make sure and look online--found out I could have saved over $100 even with shipping over my local store.
        Measure it with a micrometer...
        Mark it with a crayon...
Cut it with a chain saw!
