    Cedar and Pecan

I have some of this in slabs or cut off a round out of a tree. The pecan came off a tree that me and My Wife planted when We were going together. We have been married 42 years, so that was a long time ago. I am pretty sure this wood is dry, it's been in my office for about 5 years. Will it turn okay? Thanks, Bill

The Cedar can be prone to tearing out, it's a little brittle. I do enjoy turning it tho, it makes nice small turnings.
Pecan, Bill, turns real good for me. I think it's one of the nicer looking woods turned. Pecan is a bit on the hard side, being related to Hickory. Use sharp tools and resharpen often.
Save your small Pecan left overs for grilling and smoking, yummmmm.

      Bill,

      Chasing a rabbit here:
Have you cut down that holly tree that you mentioned back in the spring? If so, save me a piece, - I will pay you for it - just don't ask Donald Trump prices. I will get it next May/June when I go back home and get over to visit my grandkids near you.
