I am going to Woodcraft in a few minutes. Maybe I should wait until my wife gets home and see if she wants to ride over there with me. I may get lucky also.
Yeah, I got thank the guys over at Woodcraft the next time I am in there, the selling point for her was the turned bowls and vases they had on display when we were there. Otherwise, I don't think the outcome would have been what it was this close to Christmas.
They need to see it for themselves to understand why we need the new power tool.
It was pretty funny actually, cause I was getting griped at just that morning for spending $40 on some MDF for my mobile cabinet for my BT, then a couple of hours later she letting me get a lathe and tools.

You know you are a true woodworker when you speak of Woodcraft instead of your wife when talking about getting lucky! [)]
That was good Scott. I did get 3 new turning gouges so I got lucky.

Sounds Familiar! Took my ladyfair to Woodcrafters and she decided that I needed the same lathe, but I didn't score the nice tools and extension! Nice Job! Now I need to practice on some scraps so I can try to turn some maple burl that she scrounged from our neighbors when they dropped a 100 year old tree into something she can use! By the way...anybody got any advice on sharpening turning tools? This is a completely new endeavour for me!

Congratulations Jock. I think I'll try taking LOML with me next time too. Hoping she will tell me to get the Performax sander I've been drooling over.

I almost always have my wife with when I got to woodcraft. She went there to get me some christmas presents and she didnt know what she was looking for. She asked for help and of course they recognized her and asked if she was christmas shopping she said yeah. They said they always see her there with me and someone else in the store said yeah supervised vistits.
Which I guess is pretty true.
