FindBuy Helical Cutter Head 13" bench top Thickness Planer

I wasn't satisfied with my Ridget planer finish/snipe and was thinking of getting a Drum Sander. After watching several YT videos on both Drum Sanders and Helical cutter head planers I bought the FindBuy Planer couple of months age from Amazon for $699. + 19.00 shipping. Very happy with the performance of it. It's still loud, the fit and finish of the machine is on par with my old Ridget planer. They included 4 extra cutters and some wrenches. The quality of the surface finish was amazing, I planed down a piece of Koa 1/4" T x 9 1/2" W x 18" L, down to 1/8" thick with no snipe and it had a smooth finish no tear out. Very impressed with it. Glad I sold my Ridget Planer.

Right out of the box, I checked/adjusted the in & outfeed table to the recommended height/level before using. Yeah no snipe just hold your wood down flat on the infeed table and push it through same on the outfeed table. When the infeed rollers grab the stock it tends to lift it off the table and will create a snipe same with the out feed roller. So holding your stock flat on the in and out feed table will prevent snipe. On long stock 3' or longer need to have support rollers set to the in or outfeed table to the same height. So using this technique it worked and had no snipe. I've used this feeding technique with my old Ridget planer and it still had snipe no matter what I did.
