DIY drill bit depth gauges

Someone posted this $30 depth gauge recently.



Its looks really nice and has some special features (magnetic holder for the bit collar, metric scale)

I had this one I made some time back



I thought the stop was a good idea so I added one tonight.



Just drilled and tapped the wood for a 8-32 socket head cap screw; no great force on the threads, stays in place fine.

Cost: out of pocket $0; sometime back I picked up some 6" steel rules and some socket head cap screw assortment. I'm sure they were on sale. No magnet, no centimeters.
