I don't know how many of you have been keeping up with the Ryobi's Lithium Battery changes going on, and although minor, there is a difference. Ryobi has come out with a HP 18V battery and is offering it with specific tools. They have an extra contact that the older lithium batteries don't have, and they do seem to have more power.
But the point of this is to note that if you are looking for Ryobi deals and they offer Two Lithium batteries for $99 and a free tool - but there is a small catch to it. They come with the older type batteries, not the HP.
And another deal to watch is if you choose some New Tools, some deals come with the older type batteries and some come with the New HP type batteries.
AND in some sales, they are offering brushed type tools that look almost exactly like the Brushless tools. In some cases there are significant difference in prices, but with some other tools, the price differences are not that much. The new HP batteries are generally aimed at the new brushless tools, but will work on older tools.
Confusing, The key is look for 1. BRUSHED or BrushLESS; 2. Regular 18V and HP 18V Batteries; then 3. look for what comes together with bundled sales.
I have been through that several times in the past 6 months.
I should note that new the 2 Ah batteries have battery level lights like the 4 Ah batteries. The older 2Ah batteries did not have battery level lights, but are still offered in special deals to sweeten sales.
