    Rabbet bit width calculator

Found a mildly useful web-based calculator at MLCS Woodworking
You can enter the rabbet bit major diameter and the cut width desired and it will tell you the bearing size needed for that step.

It's always a bit complex even though its simple addition.
Its the major cut size minus the bearing size divided by two but the units are often weird, for example my bit is 1-3/8" and there's a lot of fraction math and decimal conversions that are easy to screw up.
Above, I needed a 7/16 rabbet and it tells me a 1/2" bearing is right... not obvious.
This calculator allows putting in the fractional rather than decimal sizes (saves one conversion) and gives the MLCS part numbers for bearings if you need to order one.

It's free and worth at least that much.
