I recently bought the Dewalt track saw and the Festool Domino. I realized from my first cuts with the Dewalt that dust collection will be very important. Although I haven't used the Domino yet, I know from cutting mortises with a router and biscuits with my biscuit joiner, that removing the chips is paramount to performance.
None of my dust hoses would connect my shopvac/DD to either of these tools. I had a free shipping coupon from Rockler so I decided to buy their new universal dust kit rather than coming up with my own solution. It comes with a deceptively short, but heavy hose that expands from 3' to 15' and three different connectors. Two of the connectors fit on the tools and the third one is supposed to connect to your DC.
Each of the rubbery connectors fits well on the two tools but the DC connector will not interface with my Ridgid shopvac hose or the DD port--they are the same OD and ID. I knew this beforehand, but still kind of disappointing since the kit costs $40. It's easily addressed with a $4.50 2" Fernco fitting, though.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to using it this weekend and I don't doubt that this will provide excellent dust collection. You will essentially need to spend at least $45 to have a working system, but it really requires no extra effort on the user (except a trip to HD).
