      Could also be used as a bench dog clamp.

        Looks like the one on my Ridgid CMS, as near as I can tell. I hardly use the hold-down, so don't recall its exact looks. I'm not at home, otherwise I'd run down to the shop to see.

          I'd bet 99 to 1 its a hold down (actually against the fence) clamp for a miter saw.

            Without going out to check the exact detail, it very much looks just like the hold down clamp on my Ridgid 10" CMS.

              One more vote for a miter saw workpiece clamp. Take a look at the very right-most thing in this pic: RIDGID CMS for a similar gizmo installed into a hole in the front of the CMS working surface and the flat end ready to squeeze stock against the CMS fence.
