    DeWault Chisels- Made in England?

So, I was at the BORG recently, and they're stocking a new brand for their 4-piece chisel set. Gone are the Chinese-made Marples/ Irwin, and now they have DeWalt chisels there. I checked them out, and they look similar to the Sheffield Marples chisels, but with a different color scheme.

On the Chisels, it says "Made in Sheffield, England with global components". So what the heck does that mean? Is the steel English, but the plastic chinese, or are they taking cheap steel and plastic and assembling it in Sheffield to get the name recognition?

Either way, I still have my Sheffield Marples chisels, so I'm not in any need immediately to get a new set.

If anyone tries them, please let me know.

Edit- OK, I messed up the name of the company. For some reason I thought there was a U in "DeWalt"...

    they're ASSEMBLED in England.

At the price they're going for, I don't think that's Sheffield steel.

(my guess - that means they were made in China, and packaged in England).

With that kind of label, I'd say it's a Chinese chisel packaged (maybe assembled) in Sheffield for a bit of name recognition.

That's what I would guess, but seems like a lot of shipping cost just to get the Sheffield name on there.

But the price issue is not a good point. The $30 Marples sets used to be made in Sheffield, that's what made them such a good deal.

If someone is putting the name DeWault on their tools, and especially if the color scheme is any kind of yellow, I think there's a law suit coming...or at least a cease and desist order...

Are you referring to DeWault, or DeWalt?
