    Keep it or Sell it

I own a Bt3000 but during the Bargain Alerts I bought a Craftsman 21829 Which I will have soon. I am putting together a small workshop in Garage. I have had a good run with the BT. I bought the 21829 for its mobility and its similarities I was thinking about selling the BT. Is that a good Idea or is the BT a better saw or are they pretty close. I don't have any major projects to test the new saw out also the shop wont be set up as I am busy putting down new flooring in basement.. Please if anyone can give me some advice on this. I guess if the BT is a better saw I can see if I can mount it on the folding stand of the 21829. I am sure with some modification and sell the 21829... I think wife is going to kill me for buying another tool plus one I already have.....HELP ME......
    Thanks,

    Clint

i would think that after you've tried the 21829 a couple of times you would reach the conclusion that its basically the same saw. At least that's what I'm guessing.

In that case, since the BT3000 is possibly prone to shim issues and just overall older, I'd consider selling it and saving the space (which is always short for me).

Unless you have some soul-mate attachment to the BT3000 and can't let go.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

Heck I'd keep it. I have 2 bt3000s and use one for ripping and the other for crosscut, no changing blades all the time. I do admit that space is not really an issue for me. I actually married them together so it is really one saw and not 2 saws at all, at least that's how I reasoned it with the wife.

I have owned both, the BT3xxx (about 11 years ago), and the Craftsman 21829, which I have had for a couple of months now. If the Craftsman saw you purchased comes with the newer styled blade guard (mine did come with the new guard), I'd keep it. If it has the one like on your BT3000, flip a coin because, except for the folding base, they are pretty much the same saw, performance wise.
