when i cobbled together a second TS for the shop, it came with a rudimentary but strong home made wooden stand. as mobility is necessary, i applied a shopnotes tip and made it mobile. it never operated satisfactorily because i made the mobile sections too small to fit the confines of said home made base.
realizing that the RAS i had in the shop would never be moved, i got to wondering why it was on a ridgid tool base and a herc-u-lift plus. the RAS is now on a tool cabinet pending construction of a proper cabinet to support it and the tool base and h-lift were repurposed to the TS. the last 2 pics show the top of the TS after 2 years of non-care and only a light rub down with top saver and paste wax. the masonite TS cover is the primary rust prevention mechnaism in my unheated shop (once waxed, the masonite makes a good light duty assembly table and glue drips, once allowed to dry, flick right off).
