    minor router accessory gloat

    picked up one of these on clearance in lowes a while back:

    not a major buy, but it'd probably be hard to make this setup from scratch for much less than $15:

    That's a really good deal and you are right about the cost to fab up something even similar. Nice score

      I have that exact same setup, except with Craftsman silk screened on it. Do yourself a favor and replace the plastic knob / nut things with 1/4-20 star knobs as soon as you can. The plastic knobs will NOT hold their position, and you WILL screw up your work piece with it. But with metal inserted star knobs it works fairly nice...

            I've got that one too. It's pretty handy. I mostly use it for circles.

            I'm not incredibly fond of the turnlock bases though. The two piece design has some drawbacks. I was using the offset base and the gap caught on a sharp edge of my workpiece and caused the bit to dig in where it wasn't supposed to.

              I had one of those in my hands for that price a few weeks ago. Waffled, put it back on the shelf. Went back 3 days later and they were sold out. Should have done it!!
