Any opinions on having your table saw blades sharpened - lose accuracy - My Dado blades don't cut as clean as I think they should but I am worried if I have them sharpened the sizing chart will be off . Anyone have experience or opinions on this?

When they sharpen a carbide saw blade they hone across the face of the tooth, not along side it. So the carbide thickness in the direction of the cut is lessened, but the carbide kerf remains the same and you get a sharp cutting corner where the two sides meet.
In other words the cutting/filing motion goes perpendicular to the saw blade body, not parallel with it.
In theory you would be able to sharpen the face many times without affecting the kerf width.

I had the dado set sharpened once. Didn't realize that the blades were getting so dull, as it's a gradual process. Having the set sharpened made a big difference though. Didn't notice any readily apparent differences in width of cut after sharpening.Comment

Not to hijack, but in a similar thought, does anyone use a diamond stone to lightly touch up their blades and bits between sharpenings? I just saw the mini DMT? I think on sale recently and wondered if that was a good idea.I think in straight lines, but dream in curves

Sure, see this:

This might help hold it:

Sawblades are similar, draw the hone across the face, but its a lot more work for 40+ teeth compared to two or maybe three flutes on a router bit. Also because the face is so short it's probably hard to keep the hone flat against the face.

I usually send out blades for sharpening, and have had better luck with some services over others. The question of whether a sharpened blade is equal to a new blade could be indiscernible depending on the sharpening service.
I've noticed a difference in the blade diameter after repeated sharpenings. DIY is difficult to maintain tooth length accuracy, IMO.
