The lip on the bottom would only be an issue if the edge is resting on a support, and that is going to an issue anyways if your fence is thicker than what you are cutting. The lip on top keeps the fence from flipping down, but you're holding it through the cut anyways so i don't know if that would be an issue.

at the bottom it needs to be adjustable and keeps the cut-off piece in place,
we dont want that. we want the cut-off piece to be away from the spinning blade.
not the way I did it in the video, that was wrong.
