Define fair. It's fair if the buyer agrees to buy it at the sellers asking price. Please like and subscribe to my YouTube channel. Please check out and subscribe to my Workshop Blog. -
Then again maybe it's not worth less than the asking price, http://www.google.com/search?q=O+%26...67bbe411eebc86_________________________

I believe I have see this portable bandsaw in action, and was in awe of it.
Some years ago, when I was just beginning to get interested in woodworking, I happened to visit a shop that built boats, and the guy showed us this (or similar) bandsaw in action - slicing a curve off the end of a 8x8 pillar seemed so easy! He said the bandsaw cost $3000; he might have been exaggerating, or maybe it was a bigger model.
But definitely not for the average home workshop. If I have a workpiece that I can't take to my (stationary) bandsaw because of size, then I'm already in trouble
!
So, yeah, the $900 might not be too unreasonable. Like the price for a used Unisaw. It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

If there is an interest, maybe the best way to determine the value would be to check out what a used one similar to the one being sold sells for. That really holds true for any tools or machinery. Then again, if the demand is there, it's up to what a buyer will pay.

"fair" is a subjective thing.
I just picked up a ShopSmith for $200 --- and the owner was elated to get the cash, and be rid of the Shopsmith. I was elated to have a drill press - which would easily cost me $200.
If you're interested in something - make an offer. If you get it --- congratulations. If you don't --- no big loss.Comment
