  • Looking for a drum sander

Any recommendations on a not too expensive unit?

At the moment I'm eyeing the Grizzly 12 in model, but am open to others if the price isn't too bad.

I'd rather buy to save time and frustration.

I've got my eye on a Ryobi 16-32 also. Anything similar will do too, just want good quality.

        Mike,

I have the Grizzly, so called, Baby Drum Sander. I love it. No dust, when I use a shop vac. No snipe. Paper is fairly easy to change. It is hook and loop, with the ends held with filament tape.

Obviously, the only downside is the 12" limit. I do mostly small stuff so it hasn't been a problem for me. It is heavy and built like a planer. In fact, I use it a lot more than I do my planer.

not a bad price. have you consdered this one:

            http://www.grizzly.com/products/10-Drum-Sander/G0716

not the same capacity, but it's new and $200 less than the x5.
there's a solution to every problem.......you just have to be willing to find it.
