    CMS Update

Thanks for all of your comments and suggestions on my last CMS post.
I settled on the Makita LS0714 7 1/2" slider. It came today and had to give it a try. Out of the box everything was dead on so I hooked it up to the shop vac and cut up some 2x2s. As expected the fit and finish are great, the factory supplied blade is excellent and the dust collection is fantastic.
    I give it 5 stars.

Cool, thanks for the update. Please keep us posted on how you like it after some more use. I've been following some of the CMS threads as I'm thinking of getting one in the near future. Not exactly sure where it'll fit though.

Wow - I don't think I've ever heard the terms fantastic dust collection and compound miter saw used in the same sentence before. Normally CMS's are terrible for dust collection.

      Congratulations!

Nice CMS, I gotta ask though, doesn't the 7-1/2" blade seriously limit what you can do with it?

I hooke the Makita up to my DC today and cut up some scraps as you can see in the first picture. The second picture shows what dust that was left on the bench. That is fantastic dust collection for any sae especially a CMS.

As for the 7 1/2" blade being to small, I don't do crown molding or cut 4x4s so I believe it will do anything that I ever ask of it.
