    Miter saw station

Recently I saw this on TV "Woodsmith shop". I thought it was a pretty cool design for your miter saw and it's portable too. U could modify it for a sliding CMS with a little tweeking. It can be folded up and hung on the wall when you're not using it saves floor space. You can download the plans go to:
woodsmithshop.com, look for season 3 episode 311. You must register 1st and its free.

It's 'portable' but I don't know if I'd want to cart it around.

Here's a very simple miter saw station i posted some time back (2006). I'm still quite happy with it.

If I had the wall space to use this system I'd build it. What I like about it is
              1. it can be hung on the wall for storage and the stand legs can be folded out of the way to save floor space. 2. It's portable can be used with saw horses on the job site. 3. The fence system w/stop block & measuring tape. Only con I have is it still looks heavy for portability. I know someone here could modify the design/materials to make it lighter and add a DC hood.

I like Loring's pvc pipe rollers better than the blocks used on the woodsmith version. Now if U could marry the pvc rollers with the woodsmith fence system or the Kreg fence system would be an improvement.
